Wednesday Words of Wisdom

Is there something in your life, home, job, business, family, relationships, etc. that you don't like?  Do you intend to do something about it?  Or are you complaining, lamenting, dwelling or suffering in silence over it?

We moved to this area of Maryland almost six years ago.  I don't like it here for lots of reasons.  My husband and I went round and round last night (again) about moving back to where we were.  He's completely and toally against it and refuses to move.

So what's a girl to do?  The only solution would be for me to move back.  As tempting as it is at this moment, I know it's not really a solution.  While thinking about this and mindlessly surfing the internet, I came across this quote and realized what I have to do!

If you don't like something, change it.
If you can't change it, change your attitude.
~ Maya Angelou

I need an attitude adjustment!  Although I have tried to do this in the past, I realize I haven't tried hard enough.  It's time to let go of the old life and embrace a new life.  So easy to say and so hard to do!  I'm willing to try and that's the first step!

So what about you?  Will you change that 'something' in your life or will you change your attitude?

  3. Yes, I have to adjust my attitud every once in awhile. (More often than I'd like to admit.) Remember you have friends out here to help you if you need to just blow off steam or vent or to encourage when you need that.

  4. Oh Annette, I have complained about the community we are living in for years, a little too entitled and self absorbed but a safe place to raise kids! I have to have an attitude adjustment every day :(

But I do love my home and I am very fortunate! (that is my mantra, everyday)

I guess I am a Gypsy by heart and my Hubby is not.

It is a tough financial time to move, so we are just holding steady :) T.

    P.S. Love this post :)

  5. One of my favorite quotes is Ernest Hemmingway: Now is no time to think about what you do not have. Think about what you can do with what there is. I think those wise words apply to life as well as "things". Life isn't always exactly the way we want it to be but we can count our blessings and choose to be happy.

  6. Great quote. I've had to do a little (sometimes a lot) of both, and they're both equally difficult, it seems.

  7. I like, "If you can't do what you love, love what you do."

Now, normally I'd cite the source for that, but I'm at work and a little off task at the moment...
