Focus On Life Week 13 ~ Eye Level

This week we're checking out what's going on at eye level.  From where you stand, sit, kneel, or lay, take a look around at your surroundings and capture what's at eye level.

It's been one of those weeks that was really good and at the same time stressful, sad, and frustrating.  So many different things going on that are out of my control and I can only sit back and watch and pray for the best.  A bouquet of flowers on the coffee table was eye level while I was sitting on the sofa.  I took several pictures but this one, after playing with it in Picmonkey, made me feel calm and peaceful.

Focus On Life Week 12 ~ Expression

This week we are focusing on expression.  Whether it's someone by themselves, interacting with others or with their animals, the way a person expresses themselves is interesting.  I was looking forward to this prompt because I could think of all kinds of shots I wanted to get.  It just seems like when I'm looking for a shot I just don't see it!  It came right down to the wire with my granddaughter.  I made her a baby doll quilt and an apron and she came this afternoon to spend the weekend, so I was able to give her the gifts.  I think her expression shows how she felt about the quilt.

Focus on Life Week 11 ~ Beauty All Around

This week we are checking out the beauty that is all around us.  The beauty that we sometimes miss because we are busy with the daily activities we "need" to accomplish.  So we were supposed to slow down and smell the roses, feel the sunshine, and enjoy the beauty that abounds in our world.

There was no snow this week but a lot of rain and now everything is muddy.  While we still don't have the beauty of spring, we have the beauty of the water.  The county we live in is a peninsula and there are lakes and rivers everywhere.  I never get tired of seeing the water.  Especially at sunset.

Getting Started

I pulled out some fabric scraps and cut 120 squares for the first baby doll quilt.  It won't be anything fancy, just a scrappy patchwork.  Except maybe I'll add some lace or ribbon or buttons, because I don't think I'll be able to resist!

A is for Apron

Shylee's apron is finished and I can't wait to give it to her!  AND my sewing room is still clean and organized!!  The next project will be the baby doll blankets Shylee asked for.  I wonder if I can get those made before I see her again in less than two weeks.  Maybe if I get started right now...

Focus On Life Week 10 ~ The Big Picture

Our March theme is "checking out" and last week we checked out things up close with macro shots.  This week we're checking out the big picture with wide angle shots.

This was another week that the weather kept me from getting out like I wanted to.  While looking through past pictures, I realized I don't take too many wide angle shots.  I really like to zoom in and focus on something close rather than far away.  This one I took two years ago when we had a picnic at the park.
