This week's prompt from Sally is flowers. We're to take a moment to enjoy the beauty of flowers.
I love flowers. I don't know anyone who doesn't really. Whether they're growing wild in a field, well manicured in a garden, or sold in a grocery store, I could marvel at their beauty for hours.
Michael gave me this miniature orchid for Valentine's Day. I've never seen a miniature one, and I've never had an orchid either. It is so small and beautiful and delicate. I hope I can keep it alive!
You can see many other beautiful flowers at Sally's blog, The Studio Sublime.

Between you and Sally...I am going to have to find an orchid to adopt! Beautiful shots...
ReplyDeleteMini's are so delicate and wonderful. Water it only when the medium is dry, but extra good then, not just a sprinkle. IF you have any other questions just ask.
ReplyDeleteAnnette, gorgeous collection of flowers! I got the mini orchids too! I'm hoping that I don't kill mine either!
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing an orchid theme! Very pretty flowers!!
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures! What lovely orchids, indeed we are developing an orchid theme. And that reflects a commercial surge in orchid growing, and that is helping my community!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures...I may have to buy one this week they are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! I'm not sure I have a favourite flower hands down. I love white flowers especially. Lily of the valley - for it's fragrance, tulips for their simple elegance, hydrangeas for their lush full blooms... and what's not to love about an orchid?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful orchid! My mom had a lot of orchids back in the Philippines and she was good at taking care of them. I guess I never acquired her green thumb. - Michelle #17
ReplyDeleteOrchids are so pretty, and for myself not to grow I like to look at them and marvel just how many kinds and colors there are.
ReplyDeleteWow! Great pictures of the orchids ... those detailed shots are amazing.
ReplyDeletei love orchids! i can see how people get addicted to collecting them...
ReplyDeleteSo much detail. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeletePretty in pink - lovely !
ReplyDeleteThat orchid is stunning.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on where you live and how the plants have been grown in the nursery. I would check with your local Orchid Club, they will know for sure :)
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful, aren't they?
Orchids are so pretty! I got my grandmothers each one for Mother's Day a couple years ago.
ReplyDeleteI've heard you can put 2-3 ice cubes in their soil once a week to water them.
I am fascinated my miniatures. A mini orchid Wow! Great pics.
ReplyDeleteStunning photos, Annette. So sweet of Michael to get you a Valentine's Day orchid.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Annette!!
ReplyDeleteI love orchids too, though I don't think I've ever had one. I love almost any kind of flowers - hard to pick a favorite, though I love tulips and white roses.
(no. 45 this week)
So gorgeous! Yes, 2-3 ice cubes at the top once a week should be enough to keep them going for many weeks.
ReplyDeleteLove that color...
With all the orchids in today's posts, I'm now longing for one of my own! Your photography is stunning - simply stunning - love these!!
ReplyDeleteThey aren't that hard to care for; sun and water mostly. I brought one home from Hawaii many years ago. It smelled like chocolate when it bloomed.
ReplyDeleteOK I'm getting orchid fever! I will need to get one for myself the next trip to Florida! Lovely shots! I don't have any one favorite flower although i am partial to wisteria, water lillies, hibiscus, daylillies, iris.....see what I mean? :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little Orchid,
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT :)
I think you know what my fav. flower is, LOL!!! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Annette - Lucky you with the pretty mini orchid. I also really liked your first photo - was that a mum? It was a beautiful palette to lead into your orchid pics.
