A Pink Sachet

As you may know, I've been working on three sachets my sister asked me to make.  The white one is here and the red one is here.  I've finished the third one and it's pink.

Just as with the other two, I used the corner of a vintage hankie.  I used vintage mother of pearl buttons, rick rack, lacy trim, decorative machine stitching, hand stitching, french knots, seed beads, and a gossamer bow.  It is stuffed full of lavender and smells divine!

My sister will be giving these as gifts and I hope her friends like them.  The next project is gift card holders that my daughter requested.  I'll show you those when they're finished.

Tickle Me Tuesday ~ Color Me Pink

Pink is my favorite color.  It is a happy, girly,  flirty, fun and romantic color.

Blogtoberfest ~ Day Eleven ~ Pink Hope, A New Sachet

I think everyone knows that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Chances are you know someone who has been affected by breast cancer one way or another.  I have relatives, know freinds and friends of friends who have battled this terrible disease.  Some are survivors and some are not. 

It is estimated that 2.5 million survivors live in the U.S.  That number should be higher and I believe that someday it will be.  It is up to each and every one of us as women to know the facts about this disease and to have regular mammograms and do regular self exams.  The sooner a lump is detected the better.  Here are three sites for the latest information:

I have created a lavender sachet to honor those who are fighting this battle.  It is my sincere wish to offer hope to someone who needs it.

A Little Girly Girl Purse

Not too long ago, I realized I haven't made anything for Shylee since she was a baby.  I have a ton of cute fabric that would make the most adorable little outfits, so I bought a couple of patterns and will start on those this week.  In the meantime, I had picked up this little pink purse.

I just imagined it all glammed up for Shylee.  She's such a girly girl!  So with a little lace, a little pom pom trim, some appliques, decorative stitching and a ribbon, I ended up with this.

I think Shylee is going to love it!

Friday's Fabulous Finds....Let's Dress Up!

It's that time of year when high school girls are all giddy and giggly and excited about prom.  They're shopping for dresses, jewelry, shoes, purses and deciding what to do with their hair.  I miss the days when Erin and I would head to the mall searching for the perfect dress.

When I came across this dress I fell in love with it immediately.  It's pink, my most favorite color, and is just beyond beautiful!  So I thought it would be fun to look on Etsy for all the accessories needed to go with it for a fabulous night out!
