One of My Favorite Things ~ Jigsaw Puzzles

For as long as I can remember, I have loved working on jigsaw puzzles.  My mother does too, and I can remember long periods of time when there was always a puzzle to work on.  My husband and daughter don't enjoy it but my son does and he gave me this one for Christmas.  It's from a painting by Carl Larsson.
There's just something therapeutic about working a puzzle.  I think it's because you have to focus on what you're doing rather than what you're thinking!  Sometimes, I can spend hours at a time fitting pieces together, and sometimes just a few minutes is all I can take!  And then there's that feeling of satisfaction when it's completed.  I'm almost there with this one.
And when this one is finished, there are plenty more to work on!

What's one of your favorite things?

Have a terrific Tuesday!!!

  2. Jigsaw puzzles are enjoyable and it's really fun to get the family sitting around trying to piece together a mind numbing 1,000 piece puzzle. I believe puzzles teach patience and above all perseverance. :)
What always amazes me is that towards the end it always appears that there is never enough pieces and I find myself thinking; "Have we lost some? Are there pieces missing?" But sure enough, as the last piece is popped into place, all parts are there and accounted for.

  3. I love jigsaw puzzles. Big T enjoys them as well as our SIL. We try and have a puzzle out for all the get together holidays and people just work on it as they wish.

I also enjoy reading. I like a good story. I don't care to read about the ills of society or anything like that. I just want a good story - a little suspense is good too.

    Hugs - Marie

  4. They are so beautiful. I really don't have time to work a puzzle or even get one started right now. But, like Marie I enjoy a good story. That, I can take with me if need be. Have a great day. :)

  5. I love jigsaw puzzles for exactly the same reason - it totally occupies and un-clutters your mind. Sadly, it also totally occupies and re-clutters my very small living room so I seldom indulge. My MIL gave me a puzzle that is all buttons at Christmas and my DIL loaned me one of those gadgets that allows you to roll up the unfinished puzzle and store it. I guess I need to get busy!

  6. I love jigsaw puzzles, too! My grandmother taught me to love them. We used to put them together at her house all the time. They take up too much room, but I still love them.
