My Most Embarrassing Moment

When my husband was in the army, he was in uniform more often than not.  It wasn't unusual for us to run a quick errand together or meet for lunch.  On this particular day, we went to the local Stars and Stripes book store.  As we walked in, I spotted a friend and went over to talk to her and Michael went on into the store to look around.  After finishing up my conversation, I went looking for Michael and when I spotted him I walked up behind him and pinched his butt!  Imagine my surprise when he turned around and it wasn't Michael!  Oh. My. Gosh.  I turned every shade of red imaginable and I just wanted to die!  I wanted the floor to open up and swallow me.  I stuttered and stammered my apology to this stranger and he laughed and said, "Don't worry about it.  It happens all the time"!  Could it get any worse?

Michael, along with everyone else in this tiny little store, heard the commotion and he came looking for me.  I told him what happened and he was just dying laughing!  I told him I was sorry but everyone looks the same in uniform.  He got very serious and just looked at me and said, "but I'm not in uniform"!  WHAT???  No, no he wasn't!!!  I just died all over again!

So, you know I have to ask...What was your most embarrassing moment?

Meet Me On Monday

I have linked up with Java at Never Growing Old where she asks five questions to get to know the blogger behind the blog!  If you would like to join in the fun, just click on the button!
What is your favorite kind of potato chip?
I don't dare buy them since my son left the nest!  Mr. Memories doesn't eat them so I would eat the whole bag!

Do you make your bed everyday?
No I don't.  I did for years and one day decided, "what's the point"?!  Oh, I might pull all the covers up once in a while, and I make it when I change the sheets, but that's it!
How often do you go to the hair salon?

Every 6-8 weeks since I have highlights and a style that needs regular trims to look good!

What do you dip your french fries in?

Ketchup is my first choice but I will dip it in just about any sauce that is served with appetizer foods!  I also really like the gravy from Dairy Queen for dipping fries!

Do you shop with coupons?
Not too much any more.  Up until about 10 years ago I used them faithfully.  I should revisit that...I saved a great deal when I used them

Wednesday Words of Wisdom

Is there something in your life, home, job, business, family, relationships, etc. that you don't like?  Do you intend to do something about it?  Or are you complaining, lamenting, dwelling or suffering in silence over it?

We moved to this area of Maryland almost six years ago.  I don't like it here for lots of reasons.  My husband and I went round and round last night (again) about moving back to where we were.  He's completely and toally against it and refuses to move.

So what's a girl to do?  The only solution would be for me to move back.  As tempting as it is at this moment, I know it's not really a solution.  While thinking about this and mindlessly surfing the internet, I came across this quote and realized what I have to do!

If you don't like something, change it.
If you can't change it, change your attitude.
~ Maya Angelou

I need an attitude adjustment!  Although I have tried to do this in the past, I realize I haven't tried hard enough.  It's time to let go of the old life and embrace a new life.  So easy to say and so hard to do!  I'm willing to try and that's the first step!

So what about you?  Will you change that 'something' in your life or will you change your attitude?

Meet Me On Monday

It's Monday again and I'm hooking up with the blog hop at Never Growing Old.  Every Monday Java asks five questions designed to get to know the blogger behind the blog!  Click on the button to join the fun!

What is your favorite dessert?
This is one of the hardest questions for me to answer because I love dessert!  Pies, cakes, puddings, cheesecake.....I really just love sweets in general!

What do you wear to bed?
Nowadays I wear an oversized sleeping tee shirt that says MOM on it!  In the winter I wear flannel pajamas!  Not very sexy or romantic but it's all about comfort now!!!

Do you get regular manicures/pedicures?
I used to get my nails done every couple of weeks and I had the prettiest acrylic nails.  I quit work and that was one of the first things that had to go.  I've never had a pedi because I have this thing about my feet being touched!

Did you play sports in high school?
No!  But I did enjoy volleyball, tennis and golf in gym class.

Do you have an iPod?
Yes.  It got lost in the move we made three years ago and I found it just a few weeks ago!  However, I haven't used it since I found it!  I'm still a cd and radio girl at heart!

For the past week and a half I've been enjoying the company of my daughter and sweet granddaughter!  I've let a lot of things go during that time including posting here and reading my favorite blogs.  I hope to get caught up this week to see what everyone has been up to!

Have a marvelous Monday!!!

Do you watch any soap operas?
I started watching General Hospital as a teenager and have watched it off and on ever since.  At one time I watched all the ABC soaps but GH is the one I keep coming back to!  I love that now I can watch it on soapnet at night or the next morning or even online!
What appliance is used the most in your house?
The blow dryer!  Since it's just Michael and I, I don't do laundry or run the dishwasher every day.  The coffee maker, microwave and  stove get used most days.  I think the blow dryer is the only appliance that's used every day.  Well, except for the fridge.  Does the fridge count?

Do you wear make-up every day?
Not any more!  I don't leave home without make-up on but when I know I'm not going anywhere I don't wear it.

What is your worst pet-peeve?
When people don't do what they say they will do!  What has happened to being a man or woman of your word?  I lose trust in people who don't follow through with what they say.
What is your favorite lunch meat?
I don't eat it very often but when I do it's roast turkey.
I hope you have a great Monday!!!

How 'Bout Some Orange!

Today I'm joining in the blog party 'I Made It' at Everything Etsy!  Click on the button and join the fun.  There are so many creative and inspiring people out there!

Do you remember these placemats?

They were in my Etsy shop and sold a couple of weeks ago.  They came in a set of two and when the customer received them she decided she wanted two more.  Of course I was more than happy to oblige but the problem was I couldn't find the same fabric anywhere.  After some messages back and forth, she decided on a bright orange color with lime green topstitching!

I bought the fabric, pre-washed it, ironed it, measured it,
cut it,

pinned it,

sewed it up,

turned it right side out and pressed it,

topstitched it

and it was done!

And just look how beautiful it looks with the fabric of the fruity placemats!
I certainly wouldn't win any awards for the quality of the pictures, but trust me when I say the orange was a perfect match and looks great!  I'm not a big orange fan but I love how these turned out!

What is one creative thing you have done recently?

Dining Room Redo

Many of my blog buddies have been redoing and making over rooms and sharing the process on their blogs.  I've been redoing my dining room but wasn't going to say anything til it was all done.  Now I'm caught up in everyone's excitment, so here's a peek at some of the 'after' doings!

I hope next week I will be able to show you a finished dining room!
What have you been working on?
