Sewing Room Window Idea

*****The post for Where Bloggers Create 2013 is here*****

I'm thinking of using this fabric for a valance over lace panels for my sewing room window.  I get the late afternoon sun and I don't want blinds or shades to block out the sun or the view.  I'm thinking the lace panels will filter the light more than block it out.  The valance would add the pizzazz needed for a finished look.  What do you think?

I haven't been able to work in the sewing room this week.  I'm getting ready for a road trip to Arkansas on Friday.  I had to close the door to the room so I wouldn't be distracted from the things that HAVE to get done before I can leave!  Erin and Shylee are joining me and I'm so looking forward to a visit with my family.  Shylee is the only great granddaughter amongst five great grandsons, so it should be fun to see how that goes!

Happy Wednesday!

  2. That valance fabric is gorgeous!! You have a lovely view from that window and lace might block the view more than you want. Have you tried holding one up there to see how much you can see through it?

  3. Lovely fabric! I think it will play nicely with your pale pink walls. You are lucky to have such a gorgeous view and that you don't have to worry about blinds. Here in So Cal, no blinds with Summer sun coming in is enough to cook you!!

I can't wait to see your finished space!

    Have a fabulous trip!

  4. Oh the fabric looks gorgeous :)

I think it will definitely add pizzazz and like Meeling said, "play nicely with your pale pink walls"

I am a Big Fan of lace curtains, esp. in my pink/peach room, it is the only truly girlie room in our house, that is dominated by testosterone, lol :)

    Have a wonderful trip, cheers,

  6. Love the cabbage rose print it will be gorgeous with lace curtains, so feminine and English cottage looking. It will be a great place for you to sew and create and maybe sit with a cuppa tea and scones.

Hope your trip is a lovely one. I apologize for having been absent from reading and commenting on blog posts this last week, just got in over my head with that Craftinest site.
