Lacy Inspiration

In case you didn't know, I simply love vintage and antique lace.  It's so delicate, so feminine, so beautiful, and so inspiring!  I found this lace at an antique mall for next to nothing.  I couldn't pass it up not only for the price but because I have nothing like it.  I have lots of project ideas but I'm a little bit afraid of using it.  What if I ruin it and then it's gone!?  I have to get past this fear because my muse is whispering in my ear.  If I ignore her, she might leave again!

This beautiful lace came from one of my favorite Etsy shops, Strange Notions.  Kathy, the shop owner, also included some vintage hankies, buttons, and a book of sweet embroidery transfers.  Talk about happy mail!

I'm really hoping to start on a project this week.  It's time. :)

  1. Wow, what a beautiful package! That hanky with the embroidered initial is so lovely! And the laces and vintage buttons are gorgeous. Can't wait to see what you make with those :)

  2. Hi A. :)

What a wonderful collection of lace you have :)

I was looking at it very carefully and you have some really old pieces that are handmade lace :)

I LOVE lace (yet another thing we have in common :) and I think I've shared before that I have made lace in the past. So, I have a true appreciation for the amount of work/time that goes into creating even the smallest of pieces.

I have a small collection of interesting pieces and also some inherited pieces which are in various places in our home, I LOVE the knowledge that I'm a 4th generation in one family (ok, my Hubby;s family) to care and use these pieces :)

I look forward to seeing the work you create, I still have your beautiful lavender bag you made sitting in my closet :)

    Have a lovely week, cheers, T. :)
