It's My Birthday AND I'm Having A Giveaway AND It's Eat What You Want Day!

Someone once told me that birthdays aren't for celebrating growing a year older but for celebrating you and your life!  This sounds good to me since I don't want to think about being a year older!  The best way I can think of to celebrate with my blog buddies is to have a giveaway!

This giveaway includes a lavender sachet, two vintage hankies and a generous handful of vintage buttons!  The sachet is handmade by me from a vintage hankie and is embellished with three vintage buttons and a strip of vintage lace.

The deadline for entries is Monday, May 24 and I wll announce the winner on Tuesday, May 25.  Here is how you can enter:

Simply follow this blog and leave a comment telling about your favorite birthday memory!

For extra entries:
Mention  this giveaway on your blog with a link to this post (leave a comment with a link to your post).
Mention the giveaway on Twitter and leave a link in a comment.
Mention the giveaway on Facebook and leave a link in a comment.
Visit my Etsy shop and heart either the shop or an item and leave a comment about it.

Oh, one more thing.  Today is Eat What You Want Day!!!  It was created to give people on a diet a guilt free day of splurging on their favorite foods. But it's back on the diet tomorrow!  Can you believe it?!  I guarantee you it's pretty much what I do anyway and especially on my birthday!

I hope you have a truly great day!

  1. Happy Birthday Annette!!! My best B'day memory is when I was 13 years old and for as long as I can remember I had baked my own cake. My mom worked the 3-11pm shift at our local hospital and with 11 kids never had any spare time. Being the oldest girl, I just assumed the cake baking job for our family. On that B'day a lady knocked on our door and she was carrying a B'day cake. She said she had heard about me baking my own and she wanted me to have my own special cake. Turned out she was a nurse who worked with my mom and wanted to give me a little treat. I was so surprised and happy to get that little grocery store cake...I smiled for a week and it showed me how good people can be to each other.
Hve a wonderful day and save a piece of that cake for me!
    your friend,
    Janet

  5. Happy Birthday, lovely lady!!

My fave birthday moment was when my middle daughter (who lives in Arizona ... and hadn't had Bubby yet) surprised me and was at my house when I got home from work on my birthday. She actually scared the hell out me (and her two sisters who had no idea what was going on when she walked through the front door and ran and hid in the bedroom as she saw me coming). We had a lovely FAMILY dinner out, something we'd not done for a couple years since she'd moved. It was the best!

Your cake looks luscious, your giveaway even better! I'm in!

I hope you had a wonderful day and yes, I believe B.Day's are for celebrating life and with the ones you love, it is a "ME" day (which Mom's struggle to allow themselves) So, go ahead and eat what you want, celebrate well :)

I will blog about your Giveaway on my Friday Post :)

I love my sachet and I think this is a beautiful giveaway :) T.

  13. Oooo, Happy Birthday!
My favorite birthday memory? My wonderful husband took me on a 6 hour whale watching tour of Monterey Bay in California. We saw tone of dolphins, humpback whales, and even a blue whale! But the reason this is the most special birthday memory? My husband gets VERY seasick (didn't really know this until that moment), and he spent the entire trip a sickly green and hanging his head at the back of the boat. Then the sweet man insists on bringing me out again a couple years later! True love? You bet!
