Yesterday we bid farewell to our son-in-law, Erin's husband and Shylee's daddy. He is in the National Guard and is headed to Iraq for the second time. Saturday was the official farewell ceremony and early Sunday morning was the final good-bye. There was lots of hugs and kisses.
A little confusion.
Some picture taking.
Lots of waiting.
There was the good-bye.
And then they were off.
We will miss Dan for sure, but we are so proud of him and his willingness to serve his country. He and his fellow soldiers will be in our prayers everyday.
Have a happy Monday!!!
XOXO He will be in my prayers as well.It is a huge sacrifice for Erin and Shylee. Love and hugs to all of you.

Thank you all so very much from my family to yours. Love T. :)
Annette - such a sad but brave moment for you all. To make that commitment not once but twice is admirable beyond compare. He will be in my thoughts until he returns.
ReplyDeleteHugs - Marie
May God bless him and keep him safe!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post and such lovely and heartfelt comments. Our men and women in uniform are to be held in highest esteem and cherished in our hearts. The sacrifices they make for us are hard and many, may God bless them and keep them out of harm's way. May your son-in-law soon be back in the arms of his beloved family.
ReplyDeleteI send my prayers and a wish that someday our little planet will know peace on Earth for all humanity in every country. An Earth of tolerance to each other's differences, understanding and respect for all human rights...but maybe I'm dreaming of heaven on Earth.
