Every Thursday I share what I'm thankful for. Sometimes it's a serious or big thing, and sometimes it's a goofy or small thing. I believe that no matter what is going on in our lives, there is always something to be thankful for. Always.
We had a tornado a few days ago. Well, a week ago today actually. I had to go into the closet under the stairs. As I sat there in the dark (the power went out) listening to the storm rage and praying like crazy, I couldn't help but think about the people of Oklahoma City and what they went through. How scared they must have been! I was scared and this was a tiny storm compared to what they experienced. The tornado did not touch down in my neighborhood but it was only a few miles away. There was a lot of tree damage and damage done by trees. I'm thankful no one was hurt and that it wasn't worse than it was.
I'm also thankful for
* tomatoes found in the yard. The plants got blown around.
* my sense of taste. It's finally back.
* my mobility
* funny videos that make me forget I feel bad
* everyone of you who take the time to read and comment on my little blog

What are you thankful for today?
Have a wonderful Thursday!

Annette, I'm so glad you're alright!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the tree damage :(
We have a storm brewing, so I'm pretty glad I don't have to go out today!
Oh Annette, how scary!! I am thankful you and your loved ones are safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteHow scary!! So glad that you are alright. How lovely to have fresh tomatoes! My plants are huge - I'm talking 5 feet tall and FULL of tomatoes, but alas they are all still green. :( I'm trying to be patient, but I so want them to turn color so I can eat them!!
ReplyDeleteThis week - a painting project that is complete!! It always takes longer than you think, but it was well worth it.
A son who was a trouper through wisdom teeth surgery and proved to be just the best patient ever. :-)
Happy Thursday!
Storms are so scary! As a child I was never scared, but after a hail storm that damaged our house a few years ago...I'm a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to storms.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are okay and no one was hurt!
Thankful you survived the tornado!!
ReplyDeleteAnnette, so glad that you weren't hit by the tornado and that all is well, but still it is certainly a traumatic experience. Mother Nature can sure pack a powerful punch.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty yellow tomatoes, nice of the storm to leave them in your yard instead of carrying them a mile or two away. :)
I'm in Florida so hurricanes can be a big concern. But a tornado would be even worse. Glad you were safe and had a spot to "hunker down." Love the photo of your tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteAnnette, I would have been so scared, I have never experienced a Tornado or a Hurricane and hope not to, earthquakes are bad enough for me and I have only been on the easy end of those.
ReplyDeleteYour toms look so cute in a row :)
Glad you are starting to feel better and I hope you get stronger every day :)
Have a lovely weekend, cheers, T. :)
