Sally, from The Studio Sublime, has given us the topic "checking out" for the month of March. She says, "March for me is the beginning of spring and a good time for checking out! There are many definitions of checking out, but I'm talking about checking out and exploring the world around us. Sometimes when we are checked out of life and checked into technology we tend to not focus on the amazing things that are happening around us every minute of every day. This week we are going to get up close and really check things out!"
Some of you know how much I enjoy taking macro shots, so I got really excited about this week's prompt. As each day passed, I became more and more frustrated because I just couldn't think of something to take a picture of. This has never happened before and I didn't quite know what to do about it. I took pictures of things in my sewing room, crayons, Annie dog's face, but everything was turning out blurry or not macro enough or just not turning out the way I wanted it to. So I went through past photos and came up with this one.
Sometimes, tulips are prettier on the inside than they are on the outside! "Check out" some really great macro shots by clicking on the links below.

It's so true that the prettiest details are hidden away inside the flower. Great macro shot.
ReplyDeleteI tried my cat's face too... there was only one that was even recognizable as a cat and poor ellie had 6 eyes! Lovely tulip!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful photo Annette. I am not so good with macro yet but I am learning.

ReplyDeleteA stunning macro Annette! I've always found flowers to be much more beautiful when photographed as a macro since the camera seems to pick up things we many not notice otherwise like the inside of the bloom.
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! I could so see a pendant made in those colors out of seed beads....just beautiful...Great job!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! The inside of that tulip is amazing. I think it would be pretty enlarged and hanging on the wall. Beautiful!
