Wednesday's Words of Wisdom

“Many of the great achievements of the world were accomplished by tired and discouraged men who kept on working.”       ~ Anonymous

Do you ever get tired and discouraged when working towards your goals?  Do you ever feel sometimes like it's just not worth it?  Do you feel like the harder you work the less you accomplish?  Me too.  I want instant results and automatic perfection.  The Etsy forums are full of tired and discouraged artists ready to give up for one reason or another.  I believe that when you reach that place, you should push yourself harder and you might be surprised at what you can accomplish.  Giving up never accomplishes anything!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  1. Ok I'm gonna tomfoolery the message with
"Many of the great achievements of the world were accomplished by tired and discouraged women who stayed up late at night after everyone had gone to bed to keep on working at their goals"
You are preachin' to the choir - but I will say ...for now...I am only semi-discouraged. I am not going to allow full discouragemnet to move in ! ( stamps foot here )I do find hope in encouraging others and seeing them push through to their goal. It helps me to think it's not impossible....You need help with that cart ? : )

  2. Patty, I re-worded that quote half a dozen times but yours is best! I'm not discouraged right now but I have been and I usually give up. I just find so many people in the forums and in my life who are about to give up and give in and I want them to know that that's not the answer....I know from experience. Like you, it helps me to encourage others and see them succeed!

  3. Annette you ARE inspiring to me : ) .It is definately hard to go to the forums some days sometimes it brings you down further ! I think that's why I like blogs so much - especially from creative types. They seem to want to inspire visually and feed the soul.I am so glad I found you !

  4. Wonderful post! I love the quote at the top. It is hard to keep going when it feels like no one is buying. Things will turn around if we are patient enough to wait.

  5. Perfect words! It's unfortunate to say that I'm was thinking about a complete redesign of my shop and its contents. But after reading your post, I think I'll keep trudging on a little longer! Thanks! :)

  6. Thanks for the pep talk! I'm so glad to have met you like your other friends here. I have been at my breaking point many times and wondered why God didn't just make this easier I assured him I had learned my lesson =) However it's true not much is accomplished in this life with out hard work, but then it is worth more than gold to know you stuck it out and trusted. You can post things like this often I know I need to hear good wisdom time and time again, I'm thick headed...heee.
