Bells, Bells and More Bells

Many years ago, shortly after Michael and I married, my mother told me I should start a collection of something.  I had never really thought about this and was at a loss as to what to collect.  After looking and thinking and looking some more, I decided I wanted to collect bells.

My mother gave me my first bell, which came up missing with two others after our first army move.  She, along with family and friends have given me many more bells over the years.  I bought only a few in my collection but I love each and every one of them.  They're not only beautiful, but the sound is so sweet from some of them.

Have a fabulous Friday!!!

  2. What beautiful bells! I was given one when I left North Dakota (we were stationed there by the Air Force for 2 years) and it's the only one I have. The handle broke and has been reglued more than once!

  4. Such a beautiful collection! I collect perfume bottles and display them in front of a large window so the glass can catch the light. It's so nice to have the memories from when each one was acquired.

  7. Annette - These are beautiful. What a lovely collection. You are lucky to have these to remember the special moments and people connected to them.

  8. What a great bell collection! The only bell I ever remember having was this big brass one. My mom used to ring it for us to come in for dinner when we were out in the neighborhood playing (so she wouldn't have to scream for us at the top of her lungs). All the neighborhood kids knew it was time for dinner at our house when they heard the bell!!

    ALOHA!!

  9. I collect bells ... well, used to. I still have the 30 or so I've collected and have them displayed primarily in the china cabinet in the dining room. But I've not gotten a new one in years. Yours are lovely!

  10. This is a beautiful collection. I collect, no accumulate, waaay too many things but do not have a single bell. Well, unless you count that whole tin of Christmas jingle bells but that's a whole other thing - LOL! I especially like that purple glass one with the white flowers - just beautiful.

  11. Those are beautiful! Hubby's mother had a bell collection too, he got it when she passed away. Wonder if he remembers that he has it?
