There is a box behind my sewing machine that I throw the thread scraps in. This is about a year's worth of thread. I found a magazine article about making things with the scraps, so I started saving them. I have no idea if or when I will ever make anything because I love looking at this colorful tangled mess. It's just another one of those things that make me happy!
I hope you are all enjoying your holiday weekend!

Annette, your thread makes me think of fireworks bursting in the sky! I think it's all those pretty colors!
ReplyDeleteLove it, as soon as I saw the title I knew it was going to be a fun picture!
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny! I have a tin bucket nearly full of nothing but embroidery threads. I just like seeing them pile up.
ReplyDeleteSomeday I will put them out for the birds to use in their nests. At least they'll be fancy nests. LOL
Ohh I think I would love playing with your threads!! Love the picture too!
ReplyDeleteI love this! When I get wooden spools I always pull off the thread because I figure it is too old to use. I love the way it looks with all the colors piled up together and I'm always tempted to keep it. Maybe I should just start a big glass jar.
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing and really artistic shot. Who would have thought that a tangle of threads could be so lovely.
ReplyDeleteWho would have though that such a tangle mess could make such a creative shot. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely, crazy, colorful pile.

Beautiful colours - they blend so well. Lay them out on a scrap of fabric, cover them with fine tulle, stitch all over, and you have a piece of 'fabric' you can use for something else!
ReplyDeletea spaghetti junction of colour fusion ;o)

ReplyDeleteNeat shot! I have a pile like this too but mine is under the sewing table!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Val, I was going to that someday too! My grandchildren love to play with the bunches of threads too! They glue them to their art work! Love your colors and love the composition!! Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!! Georgina

So pretty and so much color! How fun and what an unusual subject.
ReplyDeleteLove that photo. I pinned it on Pinterest.
ReplyDeleteI still put my threads in a small waste basket, but I often wait to empty it because I like to look at the pretty tangles.
Have a great 4th of July.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool and fun shot! I love all of the colors
ReplyDeleteTalk about "String Art"! hee hee You really know how to view art from any angle and see it from every perspective. This photo is good enough to frame and hang on someone's art wall ... and with so many different colors it would go with any decor.
ReplyDeleteLove this shot! Can't wait to see what you do with it ;)
ReplyDeleteLove little things like this!!!
