I Heart Macro ~ Thread

There is a box behind my sewing machine that I throw the thread scraps in.  This is about a year's worth of thread.  I found a magazine article about making things with the scraps, so I started saving them.  I have no idea if or when I will ever make anything because I love looking at this colorful tangled mess.  It's just another one of those things that make me happy!

I hope you are all enjoying your holiday weekend!

  3. That's so funny! I have a tin bucket nearly full of nothing but embroidery threads. I just like seeing them pile up.
Someday I will put them out for the birds to use in their nests. At least they'll be fancy nests. LOL

  5. I love this! When I get wooden spools I always pull off the thread because I figure it is too old to use. I love the way it looks with all the colors piled up together and I'm always tempted to keep it. Maybe I should just start a big glass jar.

  9. Beautiful colours - they blend so well. Lay them out on a scrap of fabric, cover them with fine tulle, stitch all over, and you have a piece of 'fabric' you can use for something else!

  18. Love that photo. I pinned it on Pinterest.
I still put my threads in a small waste basket, but I often wait to empty it because I like to look at the pretty tangles.

Have a great 4th of July.

  22. Talk about "String Art"! hee hee You really know how to view art from any angle and see it from every perspective. This photo is good enough to frame and hang on someone's art wall ... and with so many different colors it would go with any decor.
