This week we're continuing the minimalist theme with capturing a silhouette. A photograph with a subject(s) captured in a shadowy outline with little or no detail against a bright background. It sounded pretty easy. After all, I can't count how many times I've taken a picture into the light and then couldn't tell who or what I had taken a picture of. Capturing a silhouette intentionally proved a little challenging. Thankfully, Sally provided some tips which made it a little easier.
Besides learning how to take a silhouette photo, I also realized I need to wash windows come spring!

ReplyDeleteThey are fab photos - I love the one of the lamp in front of the curtain - really lovely.
ReplyDeleteI also really like the one of the lamp against the curtains. Who would have thought a lamp would be such a great subject.
ReplyDeleteVery cool shots. I like the angel, love the two dimensional quality!
ReplyDeleteI like the angel best too... and dirty windows was one of the reasons

ReplyDeleteThe angel shot is wonderful
Stunning photos. The angel is fab, very Dr Who :) I love the small patch of light underneath her wing which just gives a flash of detail to the rest of the silhouette. I really like the contrast of the lamp in front of the lacy curtain in the second photo.
ReplyDeleteThese are great silhouettes. I particularly like the one with the lamp, you made an ordinary subject, extraordinary.
ReplyDeleteThe angel has such a great shape for a silhouette. Love your piccies.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! I would not have even noticed that the windows need cleaning if you had not mentioned it. *smile*
