For the month of February our focus is Cabin Fever. Sally says, "sometimes the perfect fix for temporary relief of cabin fever is simply to get outside, even if you just step out on the porch. Get out of the house and focus on the change that cooler temps brings to your surroundings."
I have cabin fever for sure! But I do prefer being warm rather than freezing, so it's my own fault for not getting out much. However, an interesting thing happened while I was out in the sub-zero wind chills this week. I found it exhilarating! I felt alive and walked with a quicker step, getting the blood pumping. Of course it only lasted a few minutes before I was frozen and came back inside to thaw out!

Hey Annette, at least for a few minutes you got out into the fresh,. but brisk air! Good for you for being brave. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteYour shots, as usual, are just awesome!! I love the last one especially. Glad you got out and felt 'alive' for a moment. (BRRR!!) Stay warm and safe this week with all this crazy weather you guys are having!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! love the soaring bird
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! I can feel the cold brisk air and the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteI really like the last picture. The dried plants really stand out against the snowy background.
ReplyDeleteAnnette your photos are awesome. Good job braving the cold.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos - I particularly like the last shot with the contrast of dried foliage against the snow - beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images Annette! Postcard worthy for sure!
ReplyDeleteJust have to bundle a little bit more - this winter is making me say things like, " hmmm not bad out there" when it's 10°
ReplyDeleteThen I wonder what's happened to me.
I love the bird flying photo
It's so true about changing your view even if it's just for a few minutes. A small group of us have taken to walking 20-30 mins on our lunch break at school and it's so refreshing. We do it even when the wind is howling or it's raining, clears the mind and get's me ready for the rest of the afternoon's lectures.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots!
Sometimes a little dose of "crispy" feels good. A little dose, mind you!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of newly fallen snow on the trees, very picturesque.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! I love the texture on the last on. I'm glad you got outside!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of the bird soaring above all the weather chaos. It's amazing that such extreme weather also brings such dramatic beauty - which you have captured so well!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the one of the brown weeds against the snow. A great bunch of cabin fever antidotes.
ReplyDeleteI just adore cold, bright days - snow on the ground, sun on your back...*sigh*
ReplyDeleteStunning photos!
I tried to go for a walk on Tuesday... got to the top of the driveway... was walking into the wind... so I collected the garbage can and went and made beads in my toasty warm study for 2 hours... forget the walk!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty pics!!! Your landscape looks very similar to mine!
ReplyDeleteGreat challenge! The photos are beautiful. I guess it's not so bad to step outside in the dead of winter to take in the beauty out there. Maybe I should try this!
ReplyDeleteI too can only tolerate small bouts of exhilaration! Ha! Lovely pictures ... that last one is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteA perfect prompt for this time of year! Love your first and last photos :)
ReplyDeleteAnnette, I rarely go out in wintertime either - only for grocery shopping. I am so ready for spring! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteNo waaayyy! I am not brave enough to handle these freezing Illinois temps! I have cabin fever too, though. I can't wait for it to warm up so I can open the windows again and get outside!
ReplyDeleteSo true! If you keep your ears and eyes open, just a walk around the block can bring fresh new things to your day!
ReplyDeleteAnnette - Lovely winter photos.
ReplyDeleteI like to look at snow but would never be able to live in a climate where it snowed, my blood is just to tropical.
My lips turn blue and my teeth chatter when the thermometer dips down into the 50's. :D
