The Deer And The Fabric

Michael was on his way home last night when out of nowhere a deer appeared.  There was no time to react and he hit it doing 50 mph.  The damage could have been far worse and I'm just thankful he wasn't hurt.

On a brighter note, I found the fabric I'm going to use for this weeks challenge
from My Life Under The Bus.  I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet and time is running out!!!

It's not too late to join in the challenge!  Go here to see the inspiration photo and color palette.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

  1. Deer are so dangerous! Glad everyone is okay.

  2. OW! Poor Bambi. Poor car! I'm glad he is OK!!!

Great fabrics. I can't wait to see the finished product.

  3. I've never hit a deer before -- sounds and looks scary! Glad he's alright :)

And I love your fabric choices!

  4. I'm soooo glad he is Ok. It is really surprising how much damage a deer can do!

  5. Boy, I'm glad your husband is all right. Deer-car accidents can cause an extraordinary amount of damage! My dad owns an insurance company & has seen way too many such collisions; he says the best thing to do is try to slow down but not swerve. Swerving can cause more damage. Many times in a head-on collision, the deer will roll literally right over the car (well, low-profile ones, anyhow).

That said, I find it a little amusing that you talk about a deer accident and an "Under The Bus" challenge. Really, now! ;) (Made me giggle, really.)

  6. Lovely choice of fabric for the challenge! Glad Michael is ok :)

  7. Perhaps I should change it to an "Over the Jeep" challenge this week! Nice tuft of fur there ( Bleech ) I am glad he is ok!!! I can't wait to see what you make : )

  8. I love those fabrics and can't wait to see what you come up with. I did a little sewing project myself last night and thought of you. Thought "I bet Annette would know how to do this". Tonight I will try to fix it - LOL!

  9. Annette - I am so sorry about the deer and the car and I am so glad that Michael is ok.

I love the fabric for the challenge - can hardly wait to see it.

    Hugs - Marie

  10. So glad everyone is ok! Deer are cute - but definitely not the smartest creatures created.
LOVE the fabric - can't wait to see what you do with it! You are a brave woman. I've thought about joining the challenge, but my brain draws a blank when I'm supposed to come up with something original.

  11. Glad Michael is OK! That is a scary thing.

Have fun with the challenge, I look forward to seeing what you get up to with these gorgeous pieces of fabric. You must have a great stash :) T.
