Hello dear readers. I hope you're having a great day. It's still gray and gloomy here but the sun is supposed to come out by the end of the week. I might have to have a party to celebrate!
I finally made it up to the sewing room and have been working on a new idea for the shop. One of the many bins in that room is full of small fabric scraps. You know, the pieces that are too big to throw away but too small for much of anything. Well, I had the idea to make fabric gift tags. It would be something that could incorporate hand stitching and embroidery along with the machine sewing. This is the first one and it's not quite finished yet. It still needs the ribbon for hanging!
I'm also working on new sachets. The sewing room always smells so good when I pull out the lavender.
What are you working on?
Hi Annette!
ReplyDeleteI have 3 large boxes full of scraps! Your gift tag idea is fabulous! Although I will probably skip the embroidery-- I'm too impatient ;-)
Your lavender sachet is beautiful!!!

p.s. wish I could send some sun over...we've had two gorgeous sunny days :)
What a great idea to use up the scraps!! I too have a whole drawer full...I never seem to use them for much, but can't bear to toss them either.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a Thanksgiving table runner, but I'm putting more hours in at work this week due to other teachers being out sick, so I'll have little to no sewing time this week. Maybe on the weekend!
I have to tell you my craft room still smells amazing from the one you sent me! I love both od these for totally different reasons they are both beautiful! I am gearing up for my first show - eek!
