Thankful Thursday

Every Thursday I share something I'm thankful for.  It's so easy to get wrapped up in the problems of every day that we sometimes forget that we have something to be thankful for no matter how small.

Today I'm thankful for my husband Michael.  Today is his birthday!  I won't tell you how old he is, but I will tell you I met him shortly before his 21st birthday and we are well on our way to growing old together!

I'm also thankful for:
     safety through the storm
A God who keeps His promises
     friends who keep me distracted
     buttered popcorn and chick flicks

What are you thankful for today?

In honor of National Sewing Month, I'm sharing a sewing tip at the end of each blog post.  Here is today's tip:
Press the seams of your project as you go.  Whether you press them open or to the side, the finished project will look neater and professional when it's finished.

Do you have a favorite sewing tip?  I would like to hear it and I might just use it in a future post!

  1. Don't sew your shirt sleeve to your project...not that I've ever done that..... XOXO

  2. This morning, I am thankful for the cooler temperatures.
Tip: Keep straight pins away from cats. They will eat them.

  3. That photo is so cute! I'm thankful that I have a new baby nephew who is healthy and another one soon to be born...and it looks like I'll be there for the birth!

  4. Lovely post! Happy Birthday to your hubbie. :-)

Today...very, very thankful for a/'s 100+ here in So Cal!!

Love Patty's sewing've sewn right side to wrong side before...ooops, not so fun when you have to dig out that seam ripper. :-(

  5. I'm thankful for finished quilts!!!

My sewing tip would be... to just give it a shot if it's something you've always wanted to do --it will change your life!

  6. I am thankful for the lovely summer weather we are finally getting to enjoy and I am thankful for friends who hold my hand when it needs held.

  8. I love your thankful thursday series, Annette! You always touch on the most important of topics and moments in life. I wish you too happiness together for the years to come. And your sewing tip is right on spot!

  9. What a great post idea, and what a great thing to be grateful for. I hope you enjoy all the days in between now and then that bring you two to growing old together.

  10. The photo is so precious and such a sweet tribute to your spouse and best friend.

I will try to keep Patty's tip in mind. Though I've never sewn my sleeve to my project I did once sew a skirt that I was hand hemming to the skirt that I was wearing, fortunately it was only a few stitches but still it make me feel rather foolish. :D

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment.
