Since it is National Sewing Month, I thought it would be fun to browse Etsy for vintage sewing machines. These are some of my favorites.
I'm joining Yes Teacher for Tickle Me Tuesday.
In honor of National Sewing Month, I'm sharing a sewing tip at the end of each post. Here is today's tip.
Clean your sewing machine after each project is finished. Cleaning out the lint and threads ensures your machine will perform at it's best. Follow the manufacturer's directions for specific cleaning tips and oiling times.
If you have a sewing tip, I would love to hear from you!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Wonderful old machines!
ReplyDeleteI remember in my high school Home Ec. sewing class we had an ancient old Singer trendle machine, all the other machines were much newer and ran on electricity instead of leg power. It was pretty to look at but what a work-out. I suppose if I had to use one like it on a daily basis I'd never have to worry about thick ankles.
Those are fabulous! I love the old blue one. We used to have an old Singer complete with the pedal table...it was a very unique piece...I'm not sure what my Mom every did with it.
ReplyDeleteCool post!
Those are awesome! I especially love the third one! My grandmother spent a lot of time sewing and I used to sit next to her as she would create something, I loved watching her sew! This post brought back a lot of memories! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteFantastic!!! My Grand Mother had an old Singer with a treadle which she used to let me play on until I sewed thru a finger! Gaaaaaaaaaaa...well theres your happy thought for the day lol Happy Tuesday! XO
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely finds! I heart vintage sewing machines :)
ReplyDeleteLove those old machines! The first one is amazing. My mom used to have one of those old machines that you could fold away in a desk, I loved that machine.

Here's what would tickle me... Wouldn't it be great if they made a machine with all the modern functionality but took the time to make it as beautiful and those old machines. They are like a piece of artwork. I am especially fond of the black ones with the gold scroll work. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty cool! I love antique stuff.
ReplyDeleteWow and I thought my sewing machine was old! Hahaha. Mine is actually pretty old. It was my grandmother's. :) xo, Mary
