Hi Friends,
Another year of Blogtoberfest comes to a close. I'm doing a happy dance over here! I'm glad it's over, but I learned a few things along the way.
1. I need to set more short term goals. There is immense satisfaction from committing to and finishing a specific task. It's a real boost for your self confidence, especially if it's challenging.
2. I don't want to blog every day. I enjoy blogging but find it very stressful to come up with a post every.single.day. I have to admire those who do it every.single.day.
3. I need to make files for the thousands of photos I have. It was difficult and sometimes impossible to find photos taken in the past that I wanted to use in a post. Now there's a challenging goal! The problem is I don't know how. The photos are on the computer by date taken.
4. Don't wait til the last minute. Some posts need more time and thought than others. Waiting until late at night to write the next day's post is not the time to try to think clearly.
5. Never say never. Every year after Blogtoberfest, I've said I'll never do it again. This is the fourth year in a row I've participated. The thing is, it comes every year when I need motivation to blog more regularly.
6. I have the best blog readers. I already knew this but I just had to say it again. Thank you to those of you who read each and every post and commented every day. You make it worthwhile!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Congrats on completing Blogtoberfest!
ReplyDeleteI blog most days, but not every day and don't force myself to blog if I'm not feeling it.
You're right about leaving blog writing to the end of the day...always ends up being a bad idea...lol!
Congratulations Annette. You did a wonderful job and committed yourself to a very difficult challenge . . . one challenge that I know I could never fulfill.
ReplyDeleteJob well done. :)
Congratulations, you made it - WooHoo!!! I enjoyed following along and thought you did a fab job of coming up with a post every.single.day. That is no easy task and you should feel proud. And ready for a rest. 8+)
ReplyDeleteAbout those pictures...
Try thinking about where you would have looked if you DID have them sorted. For example, you could put all the flower pictures in a folder called flowers, or you could separate by kind of flower like roses or color like pink. A folder for landscape photos, one for food etc. Do the same thing there with kind of food or season the landscape shot was taken.
Just some ideas to help you get started.
Go now and REST!!! 8+)
Way to go!! This was a tough one. I couldn't blog everyday - or if I did they'd have to be very, very short or wordless kind of posts. It is hard to find the time, find the motivation at times etc...I try to pre plan post, but it doesn't always work out that way.
ReplyDeleteOne good thing is being able to schedule a post ahead of time and I do take advantage of that blogger feature from time to time.
You did great!
Happy Halloween - now go have some candy to celebrate!! ;-)
Congrats on making it to the end of the Blogtoberfest :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you guys didn't have any damage :)
Watching the news and seeing the photos of the storm was very saddening.
I hope you have a Happy Halloween, cheers, T. :)
Congrats on completing Blogtoberfest! I enjoyed reading your daily posts, and seeing all you beautiful photos. Next year your going to have to schedule your posts, so you can write a few at a time, and have a few days off not thinking about your blog.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your happy dance, you deserve it!
