From The Sewing Room

Before Christmas, I showed you some fabric I was going to use to make gifts.  Now that everyone has their gift I'm excited to show you what I created.

I took plain, solid color dish towels and prettied them up a bit using coordinating fabric and rick rack.

They were so simple to make and took less than an hour from start to finish for a pair.  Just the kind of project to give you that instant gratification that's sometimes needed.  It kind of makes me wish I still had my Etsy shop open.  Only kind of though!

Are you working on any new projects?

  1. They look great. Do you prewash the coloured fabric?

  3. These are so pretty. I am sure the recipients were thrilled! I understand exactly what you mean about the instant gratification. Sometimes you just need to make something but also not have it turn into an extravaganza of work. Best of both worlds!

  5. Those dishtowels are great and make such a great gift! I actually was gifted 5 (store bought) dish towels this Christmas, all from different people! I think my friends and family are aware that I am a super messy cook! hehe

I still have a few handmade gifts to share yet on my blog, but naturally all that has been interrupted by some new plans and sewing! :)
